This module provides a comprehensive overview of dementia, including its various types and stages. Discover the different pharmacological treatments available for dementia, as well as their effectiveness. In addition, become familiar with commonly used scales used in the assessment of dementia. Furthermore, gain knowledge of non-pharmacological approaches to treating behavioural problems in dementia and understand the treatment of behavioural and psychological symptoms (BPSD) related to dementia.
This module is extracted from the Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist (BCGP) Preparation Course. The content in this module provides current treatment guidelines for all populations and are not necessarily specific to geriatric care.
