In-Person Assessment:

Participants are required to attend an in-person session to complete their injection assessment. During the session, you will be supervised and assessed by a trained injection assessor. The assessor will observe you demonstrating both intramuscular and subcutaneous injections on a partner and your partner will, in turn, demonstrate on your arm. Sessions may range from 2 to 4 hours in length, depending on the number of participants.

Each session requires a minimum of 4 participants to run. If a session does not reach minimum capacity, OPA reserves the right to cancel the session.

Please note that participants who achieve a letter of completion may state that they hold a continuing education certificate in the Injection Training Certificate Program for Pharmacy Technicians. This does not grant authority to administer injections as such authority is granted by legislation through each healthcare professional’s own regulatory college. For more information, please see OCP’s website here.
