Description:
As a pharmacy technician in community practice, you will encounter a significant number of patients living with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). ADHD affects about one in 21 Canadians, and requires a thoughtful, informed, and collaborative approach from the entire pharmacy team. This course will equip pharmacy technicians with a comprehensive understanding of ADHD, including its epidemiology, etiology, and the hallmark signs and symptoms that affect a patient’s daily functioning at home, school, work, and in relationships. Participants will explore both pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment options, gain clarity on common myths and misconceptions, and learn practical strategies for empathetic, stigma-reducing communication.
