Committees and working groups have long been a cornerstone of OPA’s governance, giving members a meaningful way to share their professional insights and help guide the Association’s priorities. These groups ensure that the Board of Directors stays aligned with strategic goals while keeping the voice of the profession at the center of every decision.

We currently have one position open for a Registered Pharmacy Technician for the Professional Practice Committee (PPC).

Professional Practice Committee (PPC)

The Professional Practice Committee (PPC) will help to:

  1. Assist OPA in providing support to frontline pharmacy professionals through the provision of practical tools, educational advice and support that will:
    1. Drive greater uptake of pharmacists’ and pharmacy technicians’ current scope of practice
    2. Foster new ideas for future scope expansion
    3. Increase operational efficiency, and
    4. Generate increased patient awareness of the breadth of pharmacy services
  2. Identify practice issues/concerns for OPA and possible solutions to mitigate them
  3. Guide and offer feedback to OPA’s Professional Programs and Education (PPE) department on its curriculum of educational offerings for pharmacy professionals
  4. Contribute ideas to shape the educational lineups of OPA’s flagship events and offer feedback on learning objectives for selected topics

The Professional Practice Committee seeks a balance of members with experience in all practice settings and environments in order to obtain pertinent information and context to issues and concerns under discussion. For more information regarding the PPC, please visit  here.

 

Interested members must apply and the selected individual will be appointed by OPA’s Governance and Nominating Committee.

 

While schedules and frequencies can vary depending on the issues and the deliverables required, OPA committees and working groups usually hold three to four meetings per Board year (May of the current year to May of the following year).

 

Meetings are typically held through video or teleconference and members are reimbursed according to the OPA reimbursement guidelines (members-only section; log in to view).
