You’re invited to join OPA for an exciting in-person LEAD event! This first-of-its-kind event will focus on the intersection of AI and pharmacy, and how to best leverage it as you build your career. You will hear from experts at Manulife and Aiskyra about the leading tools, tactics, and strategies for integrating AI into your practice.
You’ll also hear directly from Justin Bates, CEO of OPA, about our current advocacy priorities, recent wins, and what’s coming next, with a focus on the issues early career pharmacists care about most.
Finally, we will transition to a cocktail networking reception with hors d’oeuvres, exclusive giveaways and prizes, and the chance to meet our panellists and your early-career colleagues.
This will be OPA’s first in-person LEAD event, designed especially for early career pharmacy professionals and students.

Jamie Campbell
Vice President & Head of Artificial Intelligence, Canada
Manulife
Jamie Campbell is Vice President and Head of Artificial Intelligence for Manulife Canada, where he leads the enterprise strategy and scaled deployment of AI and advanced analytics to transform how risk is understood, priced, and experienced across the insurance value chain.
His mandate spans the modernization of underwriting and risk decisions, acceleration of product innovation, stronger fraud and claims integrity, and the elevation of sales and customer experience through predictive, personalized health and risk insights.
With more than 25 years of international leadership across insurance, healthcare, and life sciences, Jamie is known for turning artificial intelligence from experimentation into durable institutional capability. He has built, scaled, and commercialized AIdriven solutions in complex, highly regulated environments – establishing the data foundations, operating models, governance, and product innovation required to deliver results at enterprise scale.
A former CEO and entrepreneur, Jamie brings a rare combination of technical depth, commercial leadership, and operational rigor. He is recognized for translating AI into measurable outcomes – reducing friction in customer journeys, broadening access to scalable risk protection, increasing decision velocity, and strengthening the resilience of insurance models in a rapidly evolving risk landscape.
Jamie holds an MBA in Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence from the University of Zurich, Switzerland.
Olexiy Pukhov
CTO and Co-Founder, Aiskyra
Olexiy is the CTO and Co-Founder of Aiskyra, an AI-driven pharmacy platform now serving 650+ pharmacists across Canada. During his PharmD studies at the University of Toronto, he was directly recruited by faculty into a fully-funded M.Sc. in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a focus on Data Science.
Alongside his research, he independently taught himself software engineering and channeled that into building Aiskyra. As a first author on multiple pending manuscripts, he has introduced novel datasets and insights into Ontario’s healthcare sector. At Aiskyra, he leads technical strategy and development of AI solutions that enhance medication management and population health.
Kenny Chan
Co-Founder, Aiskyra
Kenny Chan graduated from the University of Toronto's Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy in 2014 as part of "The Last Train"— the final Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy class. With over a decade of experience as a community pharmacist, primarily in small-town independent settings, he has also explored the real estate industry, spending four years in residential and commercial sales.
Now, as the co-founder of Aiskyra alongside Olexiy Pukhov, Kenny is focused on pioneering healthcare’s integration with artificial intelligence. Aiskyra’s AI Drug Information Assistant empowers clinicians with faster, evidence-based drug therapy decisions, bringing AI-driven support to modern healthcare.
Justin Bates
CEO, Ontario Pharmacists Association
Justin J. Bates began his career in the advertising and marketing business before transitioning into the health insurance industry where he worked as a consultant for a pharmacy benefit manager and as a principal in a health insurance brokerage.
He has spent more than 15 years advocating on behalf of the pharmacy sector in various capacities including as Chief Executive Officer of the Neighbourhood Pharmacy Association of Canada (Neighbourhood Pharmacies). In his current role as Chief Executive Officer of the Ontario Pharmacists Association, he brings a strategic, collaborative and transformative leadership approach while advocating and advancing the pharmacy profession.
In addition to a bachelor’s degree in political science and psychology, Justin holds a negotiation certificate from the Harvard Negotiation Institute and has completed the Institute of Corporate Directors program and the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management Executive Program: Not for Profit Governance Essentials. He also serves as Vice President of the Board Directors for the Canadian Foundation for Pharmacy.
