If you are a pharmacy professional and meet certain eligibility criteria (see list below), you may qualify as a supporting member. Your supporting membership in the Ontario Pharmacists Association is a good way to stay in touch with your colleagues and what is happening in the profession while enjoying many of the privileges and benefits of full membership — at a reduced rate.

Supporting membership provides you with a range of benefits and discounts, entitles you to purchase group insurance, and gives you access to important professional resources.

Eligibility: You may apply for supporting membership in the Ontario Pharmacists Association if you meet any one of these criteria:

  • You are 65 years of age or older as of January 1 of the membership year 
  • You are fully disabled (as defined by the OPA insurance program)
  • You are in possession of a Canadian pharmacy licence, but you live outside of Ontario
  • You are no longer licensed to practice in any jurisdiction (subject to approval; not eligible for any new life or health insurance,home and auto insurance, or PLI coverage though OPA; a pharmacist whose licence has been revoked is not eligible).

Privileges: The opportunity to hold positions on OPA committees. (No voting privileges. To serve on OPA's Board of Directors, you must register as a full member, if applicable.)

Ontario Pharmacists Association memberships may be cancelled at any time, however membership fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Requests made in writing within 10 calendar days of purchase may be considered, however, in all cases, an administration fee of up to 10 per cent of the membership fee (plus HST) will be charged.
