OPA Student Travel Insurance underwritten by Royal Sun Alliance (RSA), provides coverage for losses occurring from sudden and unexpected events while you are temporarily travelling outside your province or territory of residence.
How does student travel insurance protect me?
OPA Student Travel Insurance provides emergency medical coverage above the province’s health plan and other insurance you might have while you are travelling out-of-province or outside of Canada. In addition, you and your dependent(s) are covered for trip cancellation, trip interruption and baggage insurance.
What are the benefits of Student Travel Insurance?
The OPA Student Travel Insurance provides great benefits for undergrad student members and their dependents, benefits include:
- Out-of-Country medical and trip cancellation coverage
- 60 days travel
- $5 million overall coverage
- Trip cancellation-Up to $5,000 per insured person per trip
- Trip Interruption-Up to $2,000 per insured person per trip
- Baggage Insurance-Up to $1,000 per insured person per trip
Who is eligible for this insurance?
OPA’s undergraduate student members (years 1-4) covered under the government health insurance of their province or territory of residence will be automatically enrolled in the OPA Student Travel Insurance program. Coverage is included as a part of the membership benefit starting January 1, 2019.
