Pharmacist, Professional Practice, Toronto, ON

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director, Professional Affairs, the Pharmacist, Professional Practice is responsible for responding to member questions on pharmacy practice and utilizing member insights to inform advocacy priorities. This individual is also responsible for the development and ongoing maintenance of practice tools and resources, supporting committee work, and conducting/analyzing research and information to support advocacy efforts and projects where required.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Respond to practice-related inquiries from members
  • Develop and manage content for OPA’s member communications
  • Monitor and report on insights from pharmacy professionals to inform advocacy priorities
  • Foster and promote the relationship between members and OPA and support internal stakeholders where required
  • Develop and maintain pharmacy practice tools and resources
  • Conduct research to support advocacy efforts and other departmental projects as required
  • Support and attend internal and external meetings as required (e.g., OPA Committees and Working Groups, external stakeholder meetings)
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment both independently and collaboratively
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
  • Education: B.Sc.Phm. or PharmD Degree
  • Licensure: Registered Pharmacist with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
  • Solid knowledge of pharmacy practice in Ontario including legislations, regulations, standards of practice, and operational policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of the emerging role of pharmacy professionals in the broader health care system
