This 1-hour online education program is developed to train pharmacies on how to perform COVID-19 testing. The program will provide you with the step by step instructions on how to safely set up your pharmacy using best practice guidelines. Guidance on performing shallow nasal and throat swab techniques, handling specimens and communicating the results to patients is also included.

Learning objectives

Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Prepare your pharmacies in terms of setup, supplies, and workflow efficiently and safely
  • Describe operational best practices on the use of PPE, decontamination of the testing space, handling, labelling and disposition of collected specimens, and communicating test results with patients
  • Perform sampling safely using best swab techniques (shallow nasal and throat swabs)
  • Understand the billing processes for the service

Program Completion

To receive the letter of completion for this program, participants will be required to complete the following requirements until one day before its expiry date: 

  1. Complete the program’s online module (instructions will be emailed to you separately after registration).
  2. Complete program’s evaluation.
