What does it look like when community pharmacists have prescribing authority and are paid to prescribe, to manage ongoing therapy, to give injections, to prepare care plans and follow up with patients?
We will look at the scope of practice for Alberta pharmacists and explore the viability and role of expanded scope of practice in the context of our present era of technological disruption.
Is expanded scope enough to ensure the viability of the pharmacy profession as disruption continues to move at an exponential pace, and patients continue to embrace mobile and digital health technologies?
