The Ins and Outs of Marijuana: A Pharmacist's Guide to Medicinal Cannabis

Tags: Online learning, Medication therapy management

OVERVIEW

There is widespread patient interest in the potential role of cannabis to manage the symptoms of many common medical conditions. Although patient acceptance of this therapy is high, clinicians’ overall knowledge and comfort level related to cannabis is generally poor. In fact, in a recent survey conducted by OPA, only 32% of respondents indicated that they had “good” or “very good” knowledge of medicinal cannabis.

This interactive, case-based presentation will explore the role of cannabis in specific patient cases and give participants the opportunity to share their thoughts and concerns about medicinal cannabis. The goal is for every attendee to leave with a better understanding of where cannabis could be used, where it should be avoided, and the role of the pharmacist in therapy optimization.
