Continuing education just became a
lot more accessible. The national
launch of rxCertified,
the new continuing
professional development website offered
by the Drug Information and Research
Centre (DIRC) and powered by
rxBriefCase, means that pharmacists will
be able to access online certificate-level
programming anywhere, any time.
DIRC developed rxCertified in
response to feedback from pharmacists
who say they simply do not have time to
attend live programs and therefore prefer
online education to support their practices.
rxCertified is unique in its commitment
to providing accredited, interactive,
online education while maximizing the
range of topics and offering unparalleled
convenience. This innovative, multimedia
program allows pharmacists to select
one or more modules or an entire
certificate program and participate from
their home, office or pharmacy. Full slide
presentations with audio and other
educational links to information and
practice tools are included. Pharmacists
who register for certificate-level
programming also receive printed
support materials.
Professional practice topics currently
or soon to become available include:
change management;
diabetes patient care;
obesity;
womens health;
psychiatric patient care;
cardiovascular patient care;
asthma patient care;
pain and palliative care; and
geriatrics.
rxCertified also provides pharmacists
with a calendar of various types of online
events, highlighting opportunities
to meet continuing professional
development requirements.
Future offerings on rxCertified will
include podcasts and online discussion
forums to consult with the experts and
share best practices with colleagues.
Programs will be available online for
one year, with discounted fees available
for OPA members. These accredited,
online programs offer exceptional
depth of message, credibility and
pharmacist satisfaction.
