OPA's methadone drug information line

The Ontario Pharmacists' Association's methadone drug information line gives pharmacists and physicians access to drug information experts who can answer questions about methadone in the treatment of addiction.

Phone:     1-888-519-6069
Hours:      Monday – Friday
                  9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Cost:         Complimentary

The service is for methadone dispensers and prescribers. Methadone patients looking for information on methadone maintenance therapy should contact their physician.

The drug information pharmacists who answer the line are specifically trained on the use of methadone in opioid withdrawal and have access to the all of the references available to OPA's Drug Information and Research Centre. They can provide support on a wide range of issues related specifically to methadone use in opioid withdrawal - from questions about side effects and the use of methadone during pregnancy to clarifications about storage of the stock solution and drug interactions.

The methadone drug information line is funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.
