the OPA board?
Board Member positions for the Ontario Pharmacists’ Association (Even-Numbered Districts) are open for election. The following provides guidelines pursuant to OPA’s Bylaws. A call for nominations is hereby presented. Please click HERE for the nomination documents.
District board members:

- To be eligible for election, a member must reside, have a business or be employed within the District and must be nominated in accordance with the procedures set out in this Section. Each District shall be represented by only one Board Member. Nominations shall not be permitted at an Annual or Special Meeting of the Members.
- A Full Member of the Association, who is not in default of any fees payable, may propose another Full Member to be the District Board Member and participate in the vote for such nominees only in the District in which his/her place of business or employment, or residence, is located. A Full Member shall declare one of the above as his/her stated District by February 1 of each year. In the absence of such declaration, the District of the Full Member shall be listed in the Association membership rolls.
- A Full Member may at any time declare a different District in which he/she has entitlement by place of employment, business or residence, by written notification to the head office of the Association. Provided such declaration is made by February 1 of that year, he/she may nominate, be nominated, or vote for a nominee in the newly declared District.
Term of office of board members

- District Board Members shall hold office for two-year terms.
- No person shall serve for more than four consecutive terms on the Board, excluding any period spent as Chairman of the Board or Past Chair
Qualifications:

Any Full (Voting) Member is eligible for nomination and election to the Board to represent his/her District. A nomination must include 3 nominators from your district.
Roles/Responsibilities:

Board members are required to attend all scheduled Board meetings, hold an annual District Meeting and otherwise liaise appropriately with their members throughout the year.
