The Canadian Obesity Network (CON) and OPA have partnered to bring pharmacists a one-day obesity education program that will be held in various locations nationally. Delivered in a combination of lecture and case-based learning styles, pharmacists will gain a better understanding of obesity and be well-equipped to provide practical information on the prevention and management to their patients. Topics covered will include an introduction to obesity, pathophysiology, evaluation, and various pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment strategies that follow the current
Canadian Clinical Practice Guidelines on the Management and Prevention of Obesity.
This Program is CCCEP-accredited for 7 CEUs. OPA is recognized by the Canadian Council on Continuing Education in Pharmacy as an accredited provider of continuing pharmacy education.
To receive a Certificate of Completion, registrants must complete assigned pre-readings, participate throughout the Program, and successfully complete (70%) a take-home examination.
